Program Overview
The Master of Contemporary Chinese Studies is a key measure by Renmin University of China (RUC) to actively support the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in education. Following several years of preparation, the program leverages RUC’s educational platform, international operational experience and high-level think-tank resources to train future elite leaders for countries along the BRI that have a passion for Chinese culture, understand profoundly the path, model and experience of China’s development.
Departing from a global strategic perspective and amassing global political leaders, business elite and outstanding faculty resources, the program combines competitive professional courses, expert seminars, high-level forums, visit to well-known enterprises as well as various cultural visits to offer students a well-rounded academic experience in China.
The Silk Road School offers several levels of scholarship for the successful applicants，including the full scholarship and partial scholarship

Eligibility
1. Applicants of foreign nationality refer to applicants with foreign nationality recognized by the Chinese government. Applicants with dual nationality must manage the registration using the nationality applied at the time of admission.
2. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree or above (awarded before August 31, 2019).
3. Applicants should have ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing equivalent to a score of IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 90.
4.Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation.
How to Apply
Application Process
Complete the Online Application on the website of Silk Road School at Renmin University of China (http://silkroad.school).
Upon completion of registration, applicants must fill in the application form with personal information truthfully and upload the necessary materials, then submit and print the form finally. Once confirmed the registration, please pay the RMB 800 application fee online.
1. Application Form
(Print this form after registration online);
2. Proof of the highest diploma
(original copy or notarized photocopy in English);
3. Academic transcripts
(original copy or notarized photocopy in English);
4. 2-inch passport photos with white background;
5. Copies of information page of your valid personal and ordinary passport;
6. Two letters of recommendation in English;
7. Personal statement (at least 1000 words in English, indicating your motivation for applying, study plans and career goals);
8. Personal CV；
9. Foreigner Physical Examination Form: the examination result must be obtained within one month, stating that the applicant has no serious infectious diseases or any diseases which could prevent entry into China；
10. Copies of a catalogue of published academic articles along with abstracts, awards received or other research outcomes;
11. Other original research (optional);
12. Personal video clip (optional).
Notes on Application
1、All documents should be in English; otherwise, certified English translations should be submitted with the original documents.
2、The cut-off date for submitting all above materials online is March 30,2019.

About Us
Global Governance Research Center, Renmin University of China was established on March 9, 2017. It is a program supported by the education fund donated to Renmin University of China from Ms. Ma Lin, Chairman of Beijing Jufeng Jinkong Technology CO., LTD. The center is operated by Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China (RDCY), with the direction of Mr. He Yafei, former Vice Minister of foreign affairs of China, Senior fellow of RDCY, and Ms. Zhang Yanling, former Executive Vice President of Bank of China, Executive Director of ICC and Senior Fellow of RDCY served as chairman of the academic board of the center. The center aims to build a global governance platform for the exchange of high level ideas, to issue high quality global governance research reports, and strive to practice the think tank mission of advising policymakers, enlightening the public, planning strategies and nurturing talents.
In January 2018, the Global Governance Research Centre at Renmin University of China was ranked among the 'Top 90 Think Tanks in China, India, Japan, and the Republic of Korea' by the prestigious "2017 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report", published by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTSCP) at the University of Pennsylvania.
